Who We Are

We are a third year FIRST robotics team with student members from The Park School of Baltimore and Towson High School. Organized in a "bottom-up" structure, students here make the decisions with much help and assistance from our present mentors, parents, and faculty members. We focus on creating a cooperative, welcoming environment, encouraging our students to grow and learn by working with each other.

We are always looking for more students, mentors, and sponsors, so if you have any questions about who we are or are intersted in becoming a part of the team, send us an e-mail at: info@team1719.org. We look forward to hearing from you!

Philosophy

Sharing the ideals of The Park School, we encourage our members to seek out new, innovative, and creative solutions for complex problems presented through our participation in FIRST. Our students are given greater freedom to pursue this end in our "bottom-up" team structure. Surrounded by knowledgeable mentors, the students are given the oppurtunity to problem-solve free of the conventional stress found in more competitive environments. We believe that by allowing our members to learn from their mistakes and ultimately succeed through solutions of their own making, we can inspire a generation of leaders.

Interested in motivating both our students and the people we touch through this program, Team 1719 exists as an umbrella for the greater Baltimore Maryland area. We seek to expand the community's awareness of science and technology, hoping that through hands-on involvement in these area we can serve as catalyst to birth other teams that share in our vision of a brighter tomorrow.
