The Umbrella Corporation is a FIRST Robotics team composed of 13 student members from The Park School and Towson High School. This is our fourth year participating in FIRST, and we are escited about the challenges of working with a brand new control system this season. For more information on current team members, mentors, sponsors, or if you are interested in joining or sponsoring Team 1719, or would just like more information about us, feel free to take a few minutes and browse our site, or e-mail us at: info@team1719.org

For the third straight year the Umbrella Corporation successfully participated at the Chesapeake Regional Tournament. Our robot, the "Bronze Bruin", was among the fastest in the field, and although our 5-3 qualifying record earned us a ranking of 19th, we didn't make it into the finals. Still, it was a tremendously fun event, especially for the new members of the team and their families. Here are some pictures from the tournament.
Team 1719 successfully competed in three off-season events in 2007, including the first annual Battle O' Baltimore in August, the Duel on the Delaware in October, and Ramp Riot in November. The BoB gave us a chance to work with our BAA partners to organize a successful off-season event. At the Duel on the Delaware, we scored our first competition trophy, joining with Team 25, Raider Robotix, and Team 365, MOE, to make it all the way to the finals. At Ramp Riot, we picked up a trophy as the back-up team for the winning alliance captained by Team 709, Femme Fatale.

Through the combined efforts of Glenn Johnston and Paul Dennis, we successfully submitted aproclamation to Governor O'Malley's office that established Friday, March 16 2007 as a special day of recognition for the FIRST program in Maryland. Congratulations!
